Lazy Days of Summer

Week 5 and it is HOT!

Our New Digs

We've made the big move to the garage...woo hoo! We're four weeks old now and are starting to eat gruel, kinda like soup.

All pups are strong and growing fast. Individual personalities are really starting to emerge.

Time for a Change of Venue

Cara's pups are starting to rumble. Eyes are wide open, milk teeth are in, and nothing is more fun than chomping on your brother's (or sister's) face!

Escapee

We're three weeks old today and raring to see more of the world. Lorenzo (big head red) decided that the pool was too confining and decided to plop over the edge. And, what does a little boy do when his mom & his siblings are still inside the pool? CRY, CRY, CRY!

All is well, Grandma has decided it's time to put up the x-pen and begin setting up the box for our big move. We can't wait!

Anybody know what a garage is?

Eyes are open, pups are strong, talkative, and very playful.

We're a Week Old!

We're a week old and someone thought it would be cute if we dressed up. Forget that we can't even see how cute we look!!!

Most of us are over 2lbs. now as you can probably tell. We're happy, love to trash talk, and are trying to walk. Won't be long and we'll be breaking out of this joint. :)

Here Piggy Piggy...

Pictures!

I've finally caught up on some sleep and have gotten back to uploading photos. Here's some pictures of Cara and her pups as they now exit their first week of life in the outside world. All pups are growing at a rapid rate and I can definitely say that Cara's pups are louder than Omeeka's pups (labs vs goldens?).

Omeeka had her 10 pups on Monday evening, 7/20/09. Mom and pups are doing well and being cared for by Peggy Keefe at her home.

Enjoy the pictures!

Oh My, Puppies are Growing Fast!!!

I can't believe how fast Cara's pups are growing. They're soon to be sporting their cat collars. All pups have gained at least 3 oz. and are becoming quite active. Crawl, crawl, roll, etc. I've taken pictures but haven't downloaded them yet.

Aunt Suzzanne has offered to watch the litter for a few hours today so that we can go to the Monarch's game. Valle's mom is in a choir that is singing the National Anthem. Can't miss that!

We may be in trouble because Suzzanne mentioned something about costumes for the pups...uh oh!

Looking forward to welcoming Omeeka's little fluff balls :)

The L litter has arrived!

Cara decided to try whelping while the sun was still out and was courteous enough to allow us to have a decent night's sleep. She began her pre-whelp ritual mid-afternoon and had her first pup just before 7PM. She then labored through delivery of six very healthy (and cute) little labs. We have 5 boys and 1 very feisty girl. All pups weighed in at between 13.25-14.6 oz. Both Mom & pups are doing well!

Sire for this litter is either Lamont or Luca.

Is Today the Day?

Cara has begun nesting and seems to be performing her 'pre-whelp' ritual. So, there is a possibility that she could have her pups today.

Her ritual is very subtle and does NOT include missing a meal :) I'm just hoping she decides to have her pups durning the day and not after midnight like normal.

More later...

X-Ray says...

Cara is expecting 7 puppies on Friday, 7/17.
